I don't know how I can help, but I had a few ideas about the Artrageous situation, and I have always enjoyed forums for the opportunity to get wide ranging ideas out for discussion.
I feel very sad about the situation and as I ended up living back in Scottsdale, I am not roaming the area anymore. I was in Val Vista Lakes when I was there and I heard a rumor that the residents did not have to pay the rates for room rentals. I will do my best not to tip my hand, when I check into it, but is there any resident who might (an acutal resident, not me with my expired id....) want to sponsor us? I was also thinking that they could accomodate an alliance show if we had the right contact! It is such a well known location and as it is inches from Mesa, the boundaries might be squeezed a little.
Also, as just brainstorming for meetings, Scottsdale has a church sponsoring us. In my youth, I did community theater and there was ALWAYS a room we could get for a rehearsal, it was not always the same room, and occasionally NOT the same church, but MAL is a really active and visible organization (70 chairs does not LOOK like enough... we may be bigger than that) and are any of our venues of show or the riparin reserve or any of the places we have already established connection with, available for ONE room ONE day a month?
I realize poor Cynthia is trying to back out of being a one-woman band here, and you are JUST attracting a great membership and hitting your stride as a group. I am so physically out of the area, that I could help electronically by emailing if there were a list of members and doing whatever I could from the computer in the dark hours of the evenings or pre work!
Having seen the AAA show and watching such a great effort with such dedicated artists be so overwhelmed with the uphill battle that a strong group faces, we all need to try to chip in and see what every one of us can do even if. at this point, I can only act as cheerleader!
